General Instructions

These special issues will include a collection of invited high-quality papers selected from the upcoming 1 st International Conference on Civil and Environmental for Resilient, Smart and Sustainable Solutions. Each paper submitted for these special issues will undergo the same rigorous peer review process as those of unsolicited manuscripts submitted to Innovative Infrastructure Solutions or to the Journal of Materials and Engineering Structures. The Special Issues aim to exchange scientific information and knowledge in the development of recent and future infrastructures that area resilient, smart, and sustainable. The issues provide an excellent environment for government policy makers, practicing professional engineers, researchers, university professors, students, and general public to extent their interest and expertise in addressing and solving the infrastructures issues faced by societies. Refining strategic plan for infrastructure municipalities, research collaboration among academicians, project initiations are just few examples of potential outcomes expected by these Special Issues. The issues platforms are based on traditional and contemporary topics in civil engineering including structure, geotechnical, environmental, water resources, transportation, and construction management.

Based on the prevailing Journals’ policies, the following rules will apply on papers containing material previously published in conference proceedings:

1. The submitted paper contains significantly different technical materials, text and figures.
2. The journal article must not have the same title as any published or in-review papers.
3. Text that overlaps should be rewritten where possible to avoid duplication of word-for- word and chunks of text.
4. The conference papers must be cited.
5. If the conference papers were published by any publisher other than Springer or Mouloud Mammeri University of Tizi-Ouzou, and copyright was transferred, the author must obtain permission to reuse tables, figures, and verbatim block quotes.
6. Authors must disclose that the submitted manuscript is an expanded version of the conference paper or papers in the submission questions.

Potential Authors

Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit technical papers or technical notes for possible consideration of publication in the proposed special issues of Innovative Infrastructure Solutions or the Journal of Materials and Engineering Structures. The special issues will follow the review process as set forth by the Journals’ Editorial Boards.

Timeline for Submission, Review and Acceptance

• Invitation of journal manuscripts, based on 1 st International Conference on Civil and Environmental Engineering for Resilient, Smart and Sustainable Solutions (CEES2024)
• Solicitation of papers (Opening date): November 6th , 2024
